Explanations on the Symbol

This is the symbol that I have done. I came across the idea of this symbol when I'm finding information on global warming. I got the idea of the melting of the iceberg, an iceberg, heat, fire, flame and got the idea of an iceberg in flame. I planned my symbol that way because i wanted to make it very straight forward and easy to understand.

I chose the color red for the flame because that is what a flame looks like, and as i said i wanted it to be simple so i chose red, because everyone know that red is a hot color.
Then i chose a light blue color for the iceberg because that is also what an iceberg basically looks like and to make it simple i chose light blue.

And to sum everything up:

Red: color of a flame
Light Blue: color of an iceberg
Flame: represent flame
Iceberg shape: Represent Iceberg

The Making of the Symbol In AI

This is the 1st step on making the symbol. 1st, a shape of the iceberg is shaped out by drawing lines and bending then with the 'convert anchor point tool' as above.

Then some touch up is done and the result are as above.

Then I started to make up the flame around the iceberg by using the same way as the iceberg are made.

Then I just finish up the the flame using the same way also.

After that, I fill up the symbols with the colors of my choice and my symbol is finished!

1st Sketches on Symbol

I have done some research on Global Warming and I've came up with these ideas on my mind. I tried to keep it simple and easy to understand. The main idea is about melting ice caps.

My choice for the symbol will be the one on the right.

Global Warming? What is it?

Definition: Global warming is the increase in the average measured temperature of the Earth's near-surface air and oceans since the mid-twentieth century, and its projected continuation.

Causes: The Earth's climate changes in response to external forcing, including variations in its orbit around the Sun (orbital forcing), changes in solar luminosity, volcanic eruptions, and atmospheric greenhouse gas concentrations.

Effect: Raising sea levels, glacier retreat, Arctic shrinkage, and altered patterns of agriculture are cited as direct consequences, but predictions for secondary and regional effects include extreme weather events, an expansion of tropical diseases, changes in the timing of seasonal patterns in ecosystems, and drastic economic impact.
